🌻Kindergarten have been hands on gardeners!🌻 Students in Kindergarten have been exploring living things - their characteristics, needs, behaviours, and the environments in which they live. Together they searched the playground for the perfect spot to plant sunflowers, thinking carefully about what these living things need to grow. Today, Kindergarten planted their sunflower seeds and are excited to care for them, watch them grow, and observe the changes along the way!☀️🌱🌻

🎉🙏🏼 FEAST OF SAINT MONICA 🙏🏼🎉 We concluded our week of celebrations in honour of our patron saint, Saint Monica, with a huge day of spectacular events. 🎉 We began our day with the presentation of our new school prayer, written by our school leaders in collaboration with the wider community. 🙏🏼 We journeyed to the park to meet motiv8sports_australia 💚 for games full of fun and in true St. Monica spirit, a bit of competition and perseverance. 🌳🏉 We concluded our day with a family sausage sizzle lunch and delicious ice-cream. 🌭🍦 Thank you to our wonderful community for gathering and celebrating the most special week on St. Monica’s Primary School’s calendar. Today our Year 6 FIAT students led classes through a lesson on the Mercy Values. 🙏🏼 Each class was assigned a value, inspired by the Gospels. They read a story, explored examples of the value in our school community and finished off by acting it out! ❤️

🌟🌟A FANTASTIC DAY OF EXCITING LEARNING ADVENTURES!🌟🌟 Our Kindergarten students were inspired by a special visit from author and illustrator Mick Elliott, who shared stories and creativity with us. 📖 They also had the chance to explore AUSLAN with ZING Activ, learning new ways to communicate and connect.✋ To finish the day, students created beautiful crosses that will be part of our whole school St Monica’s artwork, a wonderful reminder of our faith and community. 💛✝️ A great day filled with imagination, discovery and celebration!

🙏🏼 FEAST OF SAINT MONICA 🙏🏼 This afternoon, students explored the meaning behind the symbols that make up our school crest. Two of the largest pieces of our crest (they are all in different sizes representing our diversity), contain the Mercy cross and a special phrase of St. Augustine’s, the son of St. Monica. Today, Kindy and Year 1 created their own cross as they reflected on the Mercy cross and the cross of our Lord. This will go towards a whole school artwork displaying our crest. ✝️

⛪️ 2025 EDUCATION MASS 📖 Four of our Year 5 Faith In Action students represented St. Monica’s at the Education Mass today. 🙏🏼 They were blessed to gather with Bishop Vincent and the greater diocesan community on this very special feast of St. Monica. 💙 We celebrated the gift of our Catholic education and explored ways in which we can continue to be the head, heart and hands of Jesus.

🙏🏼 FEAST OF SAINT MONICA 🙏🏼 As we continue to celebrate the Feast of Saint Monica this week, our Year 6 FIAT students delivered a lesson on the story behind our house colours. ❤️💚💛💙 Each lesson included some insightful learning, a colouring competition and a Colour House Kahoot battle! 💥 Most importantly, students explored the story of Catherine McAuley, the Sisters of Mercy and the history of our school. 🏫
